About Jeff

University of Virginia’s All American Jeff Gaffney, (UVA Class of 1987), soccer player and place kicker for the football team, has impacted the Charlottesville Community for over thirty years. After a brief Kicking Career in the NFL, Jeff returned to Charlottesville to marry his college sweetheart, Motana Kessler, who is the daughter of legendary Real Estate Developer, Frank Kessler, (UVA Class of 1961). “Frank was like no other! He taught me the value of customer service, negotiation contracts and home pricing. Frank’s tutelage has set me apart in the marketplace,” as recognized by Jeff.

Jeff has a proven track record of success, which began with his college career at the University of Virginia. He is one of only a few athletes in UVA history to excel in two sports. He was a three-time All American Soccer Player during his college career at the University. Jeff remains the all-time leading scorer with the only retired jersey in the UVA Soccer Program’s history. In addition to his success on the soccer field, Jeff was also a kicker on the UVA Football Team. After graduation from the University of Virginia in 1987, he turned his football success into a stint with the NLF, playing for the San Diego Chargers.

Following his career in the NFL, Jeff found similar success off the field in Real Estate being named: Top Producer for the Real Estate III-Forest Lakes Office, Sales Associate of the Year and Realtor of the Year by the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors (CAAR). Jeff became Director of Sales and Marketing for both the Real Estate III-Glenmore and Forest Lakes Offices, a position he held for ten years. Since 2004, Jeff has lead Real Estate III as CEO with over $8 billion in sales.

While Jeff’s success as the Leader of Real Estate III was unprecedented, his passion for helping his Clients find their dream homes has continued to be an important goal in his life. Jeff has remained the CEO for Better Homes and Gardens | Real Estate III, as well as, the Managing Broker and Top Producer for the Better Homes and Gardens | Real Estate III-Glenmore Office and has returned to his passion for helping his Clients buy and sell their homes.

Jeff has dedicated countless hours of his time volunteering for various organizations to better the Community. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Charlottesville Police Foundation, The United Way, the I Have A Dream Foundation and has served on the Board of the Charlottesville

Chamber of Commerce for eight years. In addition, Jeff has served as the President of the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors (CAAR) and on the Virginia Association of Realtors Policy Board. While assisting his Clients, Jeff recognized a Community need and created the Workforce Housing Fund, which provides down payment assistance to Firefighters, Police Officers, Nurses and Teachers. Finally, Jeff is a member of the Charlottesville Faith and Leadership Forum and has remained an active member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church since his days at the University.
